SyntraETL Data Migration & Legacy System Retirement through G-Cloud 15

UK public-sector organisations can engage Firstcron Services UK Ltd for enterprise data migration, archival, reconciliation and legacy application retirement through the G-Cloud 15 framework.

The sections below set out what can actually be bought, so that a buyer can scope a call-off without a discovery call first.

    Legacy application retirement

Extracting, preserving and providing access to the historical data held in an application so that the application itself can be withdrawn.

    Historical data archival

What goes into the archive is agreed in discovery and reconciled on the way in.

    Transactions

General ledger, payables, receivables, purchase orders, receipts, assets, inventory and sales history.

    Employee data

Assignments, job history, absence, and effective-dated employment records including leavers.

    Payroll history

Pay runs, elements, deductions, payslips and year-end records.

    Documents and attachments

Scanned invoices, contracts, correspondence and supporting files, linked to the record they belong to.

    Audit history

Change history and approval trails that the record's evidential value depends on.

    Reference data

Chart of accounts, cost centres, suppliers, customers, items and the code sets historical records resolve against.

    Data validation and reconciliation

Automated source-to-target reconciliation runs on every cycle. Record counts are taken at the source, after transformation, at rejection and at the target, with control totals where the data supports them. Every discrepancy is categorised, so a programme board approves a migration or an archive on evidence rather than on assertion.

    Historical access

DataLens provides the access that keeps legacy applications alive today: named users search, retrieve, report and export historical records under role-based access control with a full audit trail, through your existing identity provider. Statutory FOI and DSAR responses can be served from the archive rather than from a live legacy system.

    Engagement models

    Defined-scope engagement

A named system, agreed data scope and agreed deliverables under a call-off.

    Fixed-price work packages

Discrete packages — discovery, extraction, archive build, access enablement — priced against scope.

    Programme workstream

SyntraETL runs the data workstream inside a larger ERP or HCM transformation programme, alongside your SI.

    Outcome-based delivery

Priced against an agreed outcome such as an application retired with reconciled evidence.

    Time and materials

Where scope genuinely cannot be fixed in advance, for investigation and remediation work.

    Legacy Exit Discovery first

Most buyers start with a short fixed-price discovery that produces the scope the rest is priced against.

    Buyer questions

    Who is the contracting party?
Engagements bought through G-Cloud 15 are contracted with Firstcron Services UK Ltd. Delivery is performed by the SyntraETL team using the DataMove, DataVault and DataLens platform.
Can we buy an assessment before committing to an implementation?
Yes. A Legacy Exit Discovery is a short fixed-price engagement that produces an application inventory, data volumes, retention requirements, target architecture and an implementation estimate. Most buyers use it to build the business case.
Does this replace our system integrator?
No. SyntraETL normally runs the data workstream — migration, archival and reconciliation — inside a programme led by your SI or your own programme team.
What happens to data we are legally required to retain?
It is archived against a retention period, held under legal hold where applicable, kept searchable for FOI and DSAR responses, and disposed of on schedule with evidence of disposal recorded.
Can the archive be hosted in the UK?
Archive location is agreed as part of the target architecture during discovery to meet your data-residency requirements.

    Scope a G-Cloud call-off

Tell us which application you are trying to retire or migrate, and we will come back with the scope, the data volumes we would need to confirm and an indicative shape for the call-off.
