Payroll Data Requires Care, Not Assumptions

Two qualifications matter here, because they're easy to get wrong:

  • SAP ECP (Employee Central Payroll) results are structured data, not inherently PDFs. Where a bulk export of the original SAP-rendered remuneration statement is available, that's preferred over reconstructing a payslip layout from raw structured fields.
  • ADP interfaces depend on customer-approved ADP specifications and access. ADP does not expose a single universal export; the actual interface used depends on which ADP product and what access your organization has approved.

Country-specific payroll mapping — for example Singapore CPF and IRAS reporting, or Australian payroll and superannuation where applicable — requires payroll specialists reviewing the target rules, not a generic field-mapping template.

Target: Oracle HDL and Documents of Record

Target-ready output is generated as Oracle HDL, with documents and photos delivered through Oracle Documents of Record where that's the intended repository. Where the project runs a parallel-run period between the old and new payroll, that's an ongoing-integration pattern (see Enterprise Data Integration) rather than a one-time cutover.

Payroll reconciliation compares source balances to target-initialized balances at the statutory and YTD level before go-live is confirmed. Where required, approved historical data can be handed off to archival through Oracle ATP/APEX-based approaches or SyntraETL's own archival solution.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are SAP ECP payroll results migrated as PDFs?+

No, not inherently. SAP ECP payroll results are structured data. Where a bulk export of the original SAP-rendered remuneration statement is available, that's preferred over reconstructing the layout from raw fields.

Does SyntraETL have a certified ADP connector?+

ADP interfaces depend on customer-approved ADP specifications and access rather than one universal certified connector — the actual interface used depends on which ADP product and access your organization has.

How is country-specific payroll (like Singapore CPF/IRAS) handled?+

Country-specific statutory mapping requires payroll specialists reviewing the target rules for that country. This isn't a generic template applied uniformly across countries.

Can old and new payroll run in parallel before cutover?+

Yes, that's a common pattern, and it's treated as an ongoing-integration requirement (see Enterprise Data Integration) rather than part of the one-time migration cutover.
