Oracle selected Syntra ETL to archive Huggins Hospital's Oracle Fusion Cloud data — Financials, HCM and Payroll — together with Oracle Taleo recruiting data, into a secure, searchable Oracle Autonomous (ATP) archive with Oracle APEX reporting. Awarded directly by Oracle Corporation and delivered on its behalf, the read-only archive keeps years of records available for legal, audit and insurance needs — live in production.
This engagement was awarded to Syntra ETL directly by Oracle Corporation and delivered on Oracle's behalf to Huggins Hospital — a reflection of Oracle's trust in Syntra ETL to handle sensitive Oracle Fusion data with the reconciliation, security and compliance the work demands.
Not all Oracle Fusion data needs to live in the production system forever — but it still has to be retained and retrievable. Huggins Hospital needed a complete, read-only archive of its Oracle Fusion Financials, HCM and Payroll data, outside the live environment.
Healthcare finance, HR and payroll records must be retained for years under tax, wage-and-hour, healthcare and legal requirements, and produced on demand for audits, insurers and legal queries. Keeping all of that history in the live Oracle Fusion system indefinitely adds storage and administrative overhead — yet the data still needs to be searchable and reportable by finance, HR and payroll staff.
Syntra ETL archived Huggins Hospital's Oracle Fusion data into a purpose-built, low-cost Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP) database, with a simple Oracle APEX portal for search, viewing, filtering and export. The result is complete retention and easy self-service access — without carrying the history in the production Fusion environment.
Archiving live Oracle Fusion Cloud data — with sensitive HR and payroll records — took a careful, Fusion-specific approach.
Oracle Fusion Cloud doesn't expose its database, so we extracted complete Financials, HCM and Payroll data via BI Publisher (BIP) reports and HDL-based templates.
HCM and payroll data carries employee PII; we handled it with encryption, strict role-based access and full audit logging throughout.
Financials, HCM and Payroll are interlinked — we preserved the relationships so the archived data reconciles and reports correctly.
We kept the archive strictly read-only on Oracle Autonomous Database, so it stays secure and inexpensive to run long-term.
Structured to satisfy multi-year healthcare, tax, wage-and-hour and legal retention, with audit-ready access.
A secure, read-only Oracle Fusion archive on Oracle Autonomous Database.
Oracle Fusion Cloud doesn't expose its database directly, so we extracted the full Financials, HCM and Payroll data using BI Publisher (BIP) reports and HDL-based templates, plus Oracle Taleo recruiting data via Oracle's APIs — a faithful, complete replication of the accessible data.
Extracted data was transformed and loaded into a single Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP) archival database — a secure, elastic, low-maintenance home for the records.
An Oracle APEX portal for search, table-based browsing, advanced filters, and export to Excel/PDF — built for finance, HR and payroll staff to self-serve.
Role-based access control, data-security policies, and an access audit log — appropriate for payroll and HR data containing employee PII.
Scoped strictly as read-only archival — no transactional activity or workflow logic — keeping the archive simple, secure and inexpensive to maintain.
Archived data validated against the Oracle Fusion source so the archive is provably complete and audit-ready.
A governed engagement delivered for Oracle — completed and live in production.
Reviewed and finalized the Financials, HCM and Payroll data in scope and stood up the BIP/HDL extraction from Oracle Fusion.
Designed the Oracle ATP archival schema and built the Oracle APEX reporting portal and data-load pipelines.
Loaded the Oracle Fusion history, validated it against source, and ran user acceptance testing to sign-off.
Deployed the archive to production with secure, role-based access for Huggins Hospital staff.
Delivered admin and user documentation and knowledge-transfer sessions so the team can operate the archive independently.
The outcome for Huggins Hospital.
Oracle Fusion Financials, HCM and Payroll history, consolidated and searchable in the Oracle ATP archive via APEX.
Finance, HR and payroll staff search, filter and export records themselves — no dependency on the live Fusion system.
Role-based access and audit logging support multi-year tax, wage-and-hour, healthcare and legal retention.
Historical data retained in a low-cost Oracle Autonomous database instead of the production environment.
Payroll and HCM data handled with encryption, role-based access and full audit logging.
Awarded by Oracle Corporation and delivered on its behalf — an Oracle-trusted engagement.
Built on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), delivered in collaboration with Oracle. Huggins Hospital's Oracle Fusion data — Financials, HCM and Payroll — together with Oracle Taleo recruiting data moved through a repeatable Extract → Stage → Load → Reconcile → Report pipeline, with the Oracle Autonomous (ATP) database as the destination.
Oracle Fusion data was extracted using BI Publisher (BIP) reports built on Public View Objects (PVOs) and HDL-based templates — no direct database access. Oracle Taleo recruiting objects (Candidate, Application, Attachment) were pulled via Oracle's APIs, giving a faithful, complete replication of the data accessible in the cloud.
Extracted data landed as files in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Object Storage buckets — a secure, elastic staging zone that decoupled extraction from loading and made re-runs and validation inexpensive.
From the Object Storage buckets, the data was ingested into the Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP) database using OCI's native cloud-load capabilities, into the consolidated read-only archival schema.
For every object, row counts were matched between source and ATP. A full table list with record counts was produced for audit and traceability, and data was validated against source on a sample basis.
Oracle APEX served the search-and-browse portal, with audit & analytics reports built across the Financials, HCM and Payroll modules for daily business use.
Reconciliation was count-based and evidence-driven. For every archived object, source and ATP record counts were matched and documented, producing a table-level traceability list the business and auditors could rely on. The ATP database was confirmed fully populated and validated with record counts before user acceptance testing and sign-off.
A core part of the build was the OCI integration between Oracle Fusion/Cloud and the ATP database, established under an agreed OCI cloud configuration and coordinated directly with Oracle. Integration was tested early to de-risk the load, and validation checks confirmed completeness before go-live.
Oracle Fusion Financials, HCM and Payroll data was archived — a complete, read-only replication of the records staff could access — into an Oracle Autonomous (ATP) database with an Oracle APEX reporting portal.
Retention obligations mean the data must be kept for years, but keeping all history in production Oracle Fusion adds storage and administrative cost. Archiving it to a low-cost Oracle Autonomous database with APEX reporting preserves complete, searchable, compliant access outside the live environment.
Oracle Fusion doesn't expose its database directly, so extraction uses BI Publisher (BIP) reports and HDL-based templates to fetch a complete, faithful copy of the Financials, HCM and Payroll data, which is then loaded into the Oracle ATP archive.
Yes — access is role-based and fully audit-logged, data is encrypted, and the design is strictly read-only, appropriate for payroll and HCM data containing employee PII.
An Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP) database as the archive, with an Oracle APEX portal for search, browse, filter and export.
Yes — the engagement was awarded to Syntra ETL directly by Oracle Corporation and delivered on Oracle's behalf to Huggins Hospital, with Huggins' approval to publish this case study.
